"Flights of Fantasy"
Pacific Piecemakers Quilt Guild
Opening Reception: Saturday, June 9, 2007, 5:00 p.m.
Exhibit remains through July 8
Burnett Gallery
Eleven years ago the long tradition of quilting in our coastal communities was transformed into a Guild. To celebrate its eleventh year, Pacific Piecemakers Quilt Guild will present a free exhibit of the annual challenge "Flights of Fantasy" from June 9 through July 8 in the Burnett Gallery. The Pacific Piecemakers Quilt Guild will host the opening reception on Saturday, June 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
"Flights of Fantasy," creative imagination and unrestrained fancy, describes this year's challenge, in which quilters find a way to use the required fabric creatively in their quilts. The quilter is required to use the minimum of a 5" square somewhere on the front of their quilt. The fabric can be used cut or changed or manipulated in any form.
Wine and appetizers will be served in the foyer from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Quilt Challenge tradition goes back to the early 1990's, predating the guild itself.
For information on this challenge or to obtain a piece of the required fabric, please call Carol Tackett (707) 785-1024 or Polly Dakin (707) 884-3474. Download the
