Call to Artists

Gualala Arts and North Coast Artist's Guild will have an art exhibit, "Wet Paint, The Best of 2006," opening December 9 and running through January 7. The entry form must be turned in no later than Friday, December 1. The Registration form with the entry and all the information is online at GualalaArts.org or can be picked up at Gualala Arts Center.

Last year's "Wet Paint, The Best of 2005" exhibit was very successful. Following last year's format, this will be a juried show and all pieces must have been made during the exhibit year. There are two entry fees, and membership in North Coast Artist's Guild, Gualala Arts, Pacific Piecemakers Quilt Guild, Point Arena CityArt or Mendocino Art qualifies for the lower entry fee. Copies and giclées are not allowed, nor are video or motion film. Artwork must be no wider than 60" or heavier than 80 pounds.

This year there will be $1,300 in awards to be presented. Bruce Jones is curator of this year's exhibit, and can be reached at bsjones@mcn.org for additional information.

Gualala Arts Center is located at 46501 Old State Highway in Gualala, and is open from 9 am to 4 pm weekdays, and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Please call (707) 884-1138 for more information.
