Since moving to the coast, he has been inspired by the beauty of the area and has begun to paint landscapes in oil.

Heroines, Ingenues & Leading Ladies Jim was born in Hawai'i, a "navy brat," so he traveled in his youth but spent his adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been married to Lu Vickery for 35 years, has 3 adult children and now resides in Irish Beach, California.

He received a BFA from California Arts and Crafts in 1974 and has shown at the San Francisco Art Festival, The Sun Gallery and The Hayward Arts Council, both in Hayward, CA. He has done political cartoons for the Sierra Club newsletter and The Communication Workers of America newsletter.
