Local ArtistRichard Skidmore - Color Photography
I find myself attracted to colors - especially blue skies, day or night, and abstractions - particularly patterns, both natural and man-made. I enjoy the visual experience that color photography provides.
The results are sometimes serendipitous, capturing often-photographed subjects and locations in an exciting new light. Selections of my photographs are available at the Dolphin Gallery in Gualala, the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center in Sacramento and on-line at my website, www.rskidmore.com. I look forward to sharing more of my images with 2009 Studio Discovery Tour visitors.

Much of my time is spent combining two of my passions - travel and photography. Travel photography provides a record of my experiences and brings back many great memories from the beautiful places I have visited.
My recent focus has been on a series of "nocturnes" - night photography using both film and digital image capture. Lighting of the subject may be from a full moon, colored flashlights, street lights or any combination of light sources.
