Point & Shoot Camera Do you have a digital SLR camera (one with interchangeable lens) and want to learn how to take better pictures?

John Howry In this four-hour class you'll learn all the basic features of your digital SLR camera. We will discuss creative scene modes and how they can change the way you capture your images.

While taking photographs around the Arts Center you'll learn about camera controls, aperture, shutter speed, depth-of-field, stop-action and create motion. Learn how to correct for back-lighting or use it to your advantage. We will also cover ISO, white balance, exposure bracketing, picture style and close-up macro. Lenses and composition will be addressed in this course.

Learn your camera and enjoy a fun day of photography at the Gualala Arts Center.

About the Instructor

Instructor John Howry, Certified Photographic Counselor, has been involved in photography for over thirty years. He is manager of Shutterbug Camera Shops in Santa Rosa and also oversees the Photography classes and workshops.

With his role as class instructor, John loves helping others to achieve a better understanding of photography and their photo gear. John is passionate about photography as well as his teaching.
