Everyone is invited to see the only remaining active-duty Air Force band west of the Rockies, free of charge, on Friday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The Pacific Coast Winds, the chamber music ensemble of the United States Air Force Band, will play a broad repertoire of preeminent wind music ranging from Mozart serenades to the antics of PDQ Bach. With instrumentation consisting of a double woodwind quintet and brass quintet augmented by percussion, the Pacific Coast Winds musicians are exceptionally skilled and versatile, possessing music degrees from some of the most prestigious institutions in the United States and abroad.

Major Douglas C. Monroe, Commander and Conductor of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, is from Livonia, Michigan. He has led performances for several distinguished officials including Bill Clinton, George Bush, and America's Ambassadors to the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium and Italy. He has led performances in many of the world's finest concert halls including New York's famed Carnegie Hall.

The mission of the Pacific Coast Winds is to establish, grow and foster community relations with the general public by providing quality musical performances and communicating the positive message of the United States Air Force.
