New Year's Eve

New York New Year's Eve By popular request, Gualala Arts will again have the New York New Year's Eve party.

The concept of this New Year's Eve party seems to fit the North Coast life style, as many people don't like to be coming home past midnight, dodging deer and negotiating the windy highways. As the ball drops in New York, the New Year is also celebrated in the Coleman Auditorium with champagne toasts and dessert at 9:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. with strolling dinner stations where you can choose your favorites. The Culinary Guild is serving various appetizers, scrumptious crab cakes, classic Caesar Salad, various soups, garlic shrimp pasta, traditional Beef Wellington, and creamy scallop potatoes. All lovingly prepared and homemade! To bring in the New Year, they will have bubbly, of course, coffee and a black and white pano chocolate decadent desert. There will also be a martini bar, micro brews, fine wines and "Mock-tails."

During the cocktail and dinner hour Fred Adler, well-known KTDE 100.5 FM radio personality, will provide "Classic New Year's Eve Musical Standards."

Local Eyes is providing live cabaret entertainment at 8:30 p.m. with Eric and Suzanne Kritz doing instrumental numbers, then some of the cast members - Keelyn O'Brien, Jeff Pratt, Laurie Kreger and Toni Ariola - of the upcoming Gualala Arts Center Theater's February production of Ain't Misbehavin' will preview some of their swing and jive numbers.

New York New Year's Eve All this leads up to our local favorites, Sita Milchev & Don Krieger, performing old favorites for listening and dancing. Old friends and old favorites - what a perfect way to bring in a New Year.

The all-inclusive evening is $50 per person, which includes the appetizers, dinner, champagne, dessert, coffee and one premium drink ticket. Additional drink tickets are available for purchase.

One of the truly enjoyable ways to plan the evening is purchasing a table of six or eight, then sharing the costs with everyone. If you are more adventurous and like to meet new people, buy single or couple tickets and be seated with others who enjoy our beautiful coastal lifestyle. Bringing in the New Year among friends is one of the joys of living in a small close-knit community. As small as our community is, there is always someone new to meet or get to know better.

Call Gualala Arts at 884-1138 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to make your reservations. Don't delay, reservations are limited.
