First Annual Mendonoma Idol Competition Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gualala Arts Center

KTDE radio and Gualala Arts LocalEyes series proudly present Mendonoma Idol!

We are seeking the newest singing sensation on the Sonoma and Mendocino coast. Ten to twelve finalists in two divisions (junior and adult) will be selected by our panel of judges at closed tryouts. Finalists will perform for the public and compete for the title of Mendonoma Idol on Saturday, September 2, from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Gualala Arts Center.

Don't miss this opportunity to see and hear some of our amazingly talented, local vocalists. Tickets will be available July 15th, and they'll go fast, so don't wait! Limited seating. Tickets are $16 adults, $8 for children under 12 and are available for purchase at the Gualala Arts Center, KTDE radio, Aquascape, the Dolphin and Four Eyed Frog Bookstore in Gualala.

How to Enter

If you have always dreamed of singing on stage, now is your chance - tryout for Mendonoma Idol. Finalists will compete for the title and prizes at the September 2nd event.

• Complete an Entry Form and submit to KTDE radio or Gualala Arts no later than August 20, 2006. There is no entry fee.

• Tryouts will be held in the Gualala Arts Center Auditorium on August 27 and 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Participants must be at the Art Center 5:00 p.m. sharp for check in with event coordinator, Amie Heath.

• Prepare a two to three minute song for your tryout. Your tryout song will be sung a cappella, before a panel of five judges. The judges will decide immediately after your tryout if you will go to the finals.

• If you are accepted for the finals, rehearsal will be at the Gualala Arts Center from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on September 2nd. You must check in with the event coordinator upon your arrival at 3:00 p.m. Please be punctual.

• Finalists will perform on September 2nd from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. You must check in with the event coordinator at 6:30 p.m. A winner from each division will be selected that evening for the title of Mendonoma Idol, with prizes to be announced.
