Gualala Arts Lecture Series presents:
Fear of Filing

with Larry Jacobs
Monday, September 27, 2010, 7:00 p.m.
Admission is $5

Visiting a mother-in-law, having a root canal, and doing taxes are all activities people tend to put off as long as possible. Larry Jacobs can't help with the first two situations, but his talk "Fear of Filing" on September 27 at 7:00 p.m. might take some of the angst out of the annual task of preparing your tax forms.

Larry has seen it all and will cull the most illustrative examples from his over forty years of practical experience in handling a wide variety of clients with multiple tax issues over many states and even from Americans living abroad. His talk will not only provide many practical tips but also will offer amusing anecdotes, anonymously, of course.

He has dealt with the "taxophobic," the misinformed, and the disorganized client whose records are kept in a shoebox and he plans to share the best of those experiences to explain how to better prepare for this annual chore. In addition, he will provide pointers about IRAs, tax implications for heirs, and the role of trusts. There will be time for questions.

Larry did his undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts and Bradley University. He earned an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance and Commerce. He currently has a practice in Oakland and lives part-time at his Sea Ranch home with his wife, Mirka Knaster, who gave a presentation last year. He already has a plethora of clients and just wants to share his experience and to inform his audience about money-saving tips.

Consider the $5 admission fee that will be collected at the door as money well spent. This presentation has the potential to save the listener some tax dollars and possibly qualify as a legitimate tax deduction.
