Fionna and Rich Perkins

The Gualala Arts Poetry and Lecture Committees are proud to present founding members of Gualala Arts, Fionna and Rich Perkins, in a reminiscence and poetry reading on Monday, December 12, at 7:30 p.m.

Rich and Fionna will talk about what it was like on the coast before the buildup of The Sea Ranch and what changes they have witnessed in the Gualala / Point Arena communities since the early 1960's. Mr. Perkins is an architect (he created early designs for the Arts Center) and Mrs. Perkins is a nationally known poet. Both have extensively participated in our coastal community.

After opening the first bookstore in Mendocino in 1960, they moved to their home on 13 acres in Gualala. Their activities on the south coast have been anchored by the founding of Gualala Arts in 1964 and the realization of the Point Arena Coast Community Library in 2004, with much activity in between. Please join us as we pay tribute to this remarkable couple and listen to their stories, observations, and selected poems.

For further information, call 707-884-1138 or visit gualalaarts.org. Located at 46501 Old State Highway in Gualala, the Arts Center is open weekdays 9 am to 4 pm, and weekends from noon to 4 pm.
