Gallery Exhibit:  "Something's Fishy"
Pacific Piecemakers 10th Annual Quilt Guild Challenge
June 12 through July 5

Challenge: A call to combat or contest·.
(Websterās Dictionary)  It is definitely not combat, but a contest of creativity and talent it is!!

The Pacific Piecemakersā Quilting Guild (PPQG) will hold its 10th Annual Challenge Show, which will open on Saturday, June 12. It will be held at the Gualala Arts Center, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Quilt Challenge is an annual event that has actually been taking place since before the guild was formally established. The Challenge Event features quilts that are designed and created by local quilters, around specific themes. This yearās theme is "Somethingās Fishy." Those who attended last yearās Challenge may remember the theme, "Itās the Little Things."

Our coastal community is home to a very talented group of quilters÷some of whom are nationally recognized and published. The Challenge brings out the very best in artistic and creative talent in these quilters. The "Somethingās Fishy" quilts, to be displayed in this yearās PPQGās Tenth Annual Challenge, will vary between the wildly imaginative to the more traditional; but one thing is for sure, there will be something to please every artistic fancy. For those who may be interested, many of the fine quilts will be available for purchase.

Mark your calendars and plan to see the quilting artistry our area has to offer. The show will be on display until July 5.
