K-8 Elementary Art

Opening Reception: Saturday, Febuary 11, 5 p.m.
Exhibit remains through March 5th
Gualala Arts Center:   Elaine Jacob Foyer

Elementary Art Exhibit 2005 The opening reception for the K-8 Elementary Art Exhibit in the Elaine Jacob Foyer, and the Gualala Arts Member's Small Works Exhibit in the Burnett Gallery, will be honored together. Both exhibits follow the same criteria - all works must be 12x12x12 inches, or smaller, with frame and matting included.

Christina Smith-Owings, a retired K-12 Art Instructor who is a board liaison person with the Gualala Arts in the Schools Committee, has worked with the teachers to assemble a selective and breath-taking display of the talents of students. The valuable training and gratification of arranging for a show of their artwork adds another level of education of the arts.

The schools taking part in this special program are: Point Arena Elementary, Horicon Elementary at Annapolis, and Manchester School. Friends of the Gualala River (FoGR) will sponsor an award of $50 for the artist whose entry best illustrates our region's natural ecology.

You are invited to support these young artists by attending the reception to show them you care.

Gualala Arts Center is located at 46501 Old State Highway in Gualala, and is open from 9 am to 4 pm weekdays, and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Please call (707) 884-1138 for more information.
