Exhibit remains through November 11
Liz Shepherd is very pleased to be back at the Dolphin Gallery and to once again be sharing the space with talented glass artist, Meris Emory. Liz enjoys collaborating with Meris on pieces for these shows, and to share artistic ideas with her.
She has been concentrating on macro photography lately and exploring the abstract images in naturally occurring patterns. By showing the center details of the subject she thinks of it as "Zen and the art of photography." Liz is very happy with this collection of photographs and the way they transcend her to a peaceful place.
Meris Emory has a studio in Oakland and is looking forward to collaborative pieces, matching Liz's photos with her own glass frames.
This year she has a large array of platters... using new, unique shapes, sizes, colors and forms. She also is including many old favorites, like jewelry, flower holders and frames. She has been doing glass art for about twenty years, focusing mainly on art that is functional, as well as decorative. Her glass art business, Meris Emory Enterprises, was established in 1996, after 10 years of taking classes and generally getting the hang of it. Early on a strong passion and love for glass was established. Opening the kiln after a 20 hour process of fusing or slumping still feels like Christmas morning, many years and firings later. Abstract form and the elegant flow of colors is unique to her style.
Both Liz and Meris look forward to sharing their new pieces.
