Gualala Arts enters its 52nd year with new Officers and Board members. The Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 14 at the Gualala Arts Center Coleman Auditorium.

The meeting will start at 3:00 p.m. and is open to the public. New Officers and Board Members will be elected and 2012's key volunteers will be honored. Nominations from the floor may be made prior to balloting; only Gualala Arts members are eligible to vote. There is no charge to attend.

Hearts for the Arts Gualala Arts will elect five new Officers and five new Board Members. The proposed slate of officers for 2013 is:

  • Richard Schimbor, President
  • CE Brown, 1st Vice President
  • Sharon Nickodem, 2nd Vice President
  • Steve Carnes, Treasurer
  • Alan Grossman, Secretary.

Proposed new or 2nd term Board Members are Phil Atkins, Rosemary Campiformio, Karen Hay, Richard Pfeifer and Richard Schimbor. Returning Board Members are Dave Bower, Teri Fagan, Don Krieger, Lynda O'Brien and Sandy Scott.

Of the current board members, three will be leaving in February: Paddy Batchelder, Barbara Dunsmoor and Mike Mee.

"Each departing member has brought their own special talents that enhance Gualala Arts and make it a special organization in our community," said David "Sus" Susalla, Gualala Arts Executive Director. "If the health of an organization is judged by the participation of its members, these individuals speak volumes about why Gualala Arts is thriving. We hope their example of service will prompt others to build on their accomplishments and bring new talents to Gualala Arts."
