Movement Into Autumn – a Taoist perspective

As we pass through August and the days begin to gradually shorten, the bright energy of Spring and Summer give way to a more thoughtful and tranquil state. All of nature turns to a more reflective stance, and we begin to appreciate and become aware of what has developed over the course of the year.

How can we make the most of this gradual cooling and slowing of things? What are the opportunities for us and for our health as more self-awareness naturally rises to consciousness? What challenges can confront us?

What can we do to be most in harmony with Nature at this particular time of year? What practices and perspectives can provide the smoothest flow through this season?

This will be a practical talk about engaging with the energies of the beginning of Autumn. We will look at the cycle of the whole year, and think about what is most natural to accomplish in this period of increasing Yin. We will also learn simple practices for strengthening health and staying in balance at this time of year.

No previous experience or knowledge is needed. Part of the Global Harmony Arts series at Gualala Arts Center
