Members $40; Non-members $45. Materials fee included in class fee. Sign up by April 22.

This class will show how easy it is to roll your own sushi rolls at home. It’s fun and easy to learn and wonderful to share with family. We will cover the full range of sushi preparation: from the cooking of the sushi rice through preparation and hands-on rolling of the maki (rolls) to the presentation of the plating with edible leaves and flowers. Laura Leigh brings everything needed to roll sushi maki: cooked rice and classic sushi fillings: fresh organic vegetables and smoked salmon and avocado, wasabi, pickled ginger & soy sauce, etc. There will be a brief talk with information on ingredients and where to buy them to create healthy and beautiful edible art.  Laura will do a demonstration and bring a plate of sushi. It is so fun to roll our own sushi and sit down to a delicious lunch together in the last hour of the workshop. An enjoyable class for couples, parents & kids, and groups of friends. Laura loves to teach this class!

Laura Leigh marks 20 years on the Mendonoma coast making sushi in 2016. This is her third workshop at Gualala Arts in the past three years teaching the art of rolling sushi. She is excited to be teaching another group of people interested in learning the steps of making sushi, from making the perfect rice to the delicious ingredients that go inside each sushi roll.
